tips on cutting the tank mounts

How do you cut the stock tank mounts? Ive been using my angle grinder for chopping but it seems if i use it on the ears i might hit the frame.

if I recall correctly I popped mine off with a chisel. I think they are attached with spot welds. Not too hard to do

I cut the botton lip off first . then I ground down the spot welds. and was able to pry the mount up enough to finish with cutting and grinding. Just take Your time and You should be able not to hit the frame
I used the angle grinder. our best friend!

just drill out the spot welds and it will fall right off. thats by far the cleanest way

Chisel, BFH, 3 whacks each side. Clean spot weld locations with sanding disk on grinder.

I did the drill method on the spot welds then a chisel and hammer. Two good whacks and they popped right off!! Fill divots from drilling with some weld and grind/sand down to taste. Good luck
