Tire sizes

I've welded a TC Bros hardtail onto a 1971 frame. I have the original rims, 19front 18rear. I like the looks of the wider high sidewall tires I'm seeing on the bobbers. How far up can I go on tire size with the original rims? Also, I see that my axle is going to be 1/2 inch short now. Where's a good place for spacers and a new axel?

search the classifieds here for an axle, if no luck, they are all over ebay.

what size is the rear on yours, that looks to be a stock wheel

it is a mh-90 16, which is equivalent to a 130-90-16

Get a 74 up axle and a handful of 3/4 inch washers from the hardware store. Add equal amounts of washers to each side to get the wheel centered.
