I just came into a really sweet XS650 that was given to me by my father. It looks amazing and runs like a champ. Its built around an Ardcore frame and I have the certificate on the frame. The frame has a welded on tag with the Ardcore frame number but the neck is blank. It appears as if the VIN was grinded off. I live in Texas and when I called the Deputy Sheriff at the VIN inspection station, he was pretty clear that if the neck appeared modified in any way, he'd confiscate the bike. Not sure what my options are here. I think getting a titled neck is my best option. I have a bill of sale on the other major components.
