Turn signal brackets - A little help please

Hi,

Hope it is ok to post this here...

We produce these turn signal brackets for the XS. We have an early XS here that we used to develop them. Recently we have been informed that they didn't fit properly on a later model XS.

The customer says it looks like his triple clamp bolts are 17mm on center rather than 20mm. I want produce a set that fits properly on on the later models, and figure out exactly which years or models have 20mm spaced bolts and which have the smaller spacing.

If any of you XS experts have information on this, it would be greatly appreciated!

I have your brackets on my 81. What year is their bike?

That's strange, he says his is a 1981. I wonder if the Special might be different? He says he has a friend with a late 70s model, and the brackets had to be modified to fit his as well.

I've got them on my 78 special and they fitted up fine.

I bought a pair from you for my 1975 XS650.

I did need to enlarge the holes to suit my triple trees (34mm fork tubes).

It didn't worry me enough to let you know, since I powder coated mine black anyway, any minor scratches I created in the process were covered up.

The '70 to '74 will not work because of the different lower triple clamp. When you do make a bracket for these years let us know--I want one.
