Most posts here are about how to fix some kind of problem with their bike.
It wastes time to have to ask for details on what year/model/modification/etc. the bike has before we can even start in with the derision, mockery, bad advice, bigoted opinions and the occasional helpful tip.
How about saving everybody a step or two by building your bike's details into your signature line?
If I can do it, anybody can.

Can the moderators not make it a MUST add if anyone joins? Like when you fill in details at say a bank and you leave something out, you can't continue until you have? That way it will be there.

That's good idea woofie!

BUT... My siggy line would ramble on for 50 lines or more
and that's just the current stable.

It's a great idea but some people are not really savvy when it comes to message forums. Can't fault them for that

Hi Gary,
do I have a deal for you!
Let your signature say:-
"One shitload of bikes"
And if you ever do have a question instead of answering the questions of others I'm sure you'll have the good sense to start with :-
My (insert year) XS650 (insert model) has (insert problem) which will put you 3 or more posts ahead of the norm.

Hi Gary,
3 metric tons, eh? At an average weight per bike of 200kg that's only 15 of them.
Cutting back, are you?
