what carb to use

building a 2 into 1 equal length intake manifold. any suggestions on what size carb i should run

Equal length, obviously not a stock frame then. I think 36 is the usual, but no reason a BS 34 or 38 wouldn't suffice. If you want a decent carb though, you can't go past a VM: simple, good performance, parts are easily available, easy to jet and tune.
