I have a genuine Yamaha fairing for a 1975 xs 650 black and gold in color. Any idea of what it's worth? I also have a sissybar that is probably not factory but is in good shape.

I'm just trying to get an idea of it's valve before I post it in the classifieds.

Define "genuine"? Yamaha and other makers had fairing makers make adapters to fit their bikes and resold them through the dealers. Looks like a Pacifico to me. It's all a matter of finding the right buyer. In the day guys were willing to tour on an XS those guys are harder to find now, most XS are used as sunny day bikes. It may be Yamaha but it's still one ugly old SOB. You don't want it on your XS right? If you had the genuine 75 yamaha hard bags with the gold stripes and brackets, those have some interest.

Old fairings run from 50-100 on my local craigslist.
Some are BMW, some Honda, some Vetter and others with no brand distinction.

that has gggGary written all over it

THANKS RD!

As far as worth? Nothing to maybe $100, a clean clear windshield is critical and much more rare than the fairing. For a while I could make good money parting out Vetter fairings, the wiring connector harness, windshields with pop vents and good chrome trim brought the bux.

I put a windshield and bags on the Shadow when I want to "tour" I keep looking at wings and Ventures but don't really find the time or desire to MC travel distances anymore.

I hear that Gary. My bought new 2010 Road Glide has all of 2,300 miles. I keep threatening to ride it up to the NorthWoods, but..........................

Now the bags and top box have brought home lots of sweet corn, groceries and adult beverages in those miles. It is so much more bike than I need, but fits George Carlins famous skit, "A place for my stuff"

I've got a pretty nice Vetter that was sold by another name, harness, mount and all for an XS650. I've moved this thing around for the past 30 years. I can't give it away, and I can't bring myself to burn it.

Southern California? Those things must be lining the roadsides. But.......I do have the mounts that fit most of these to the XS frame. I have no pictures on this computer, I have to do the memory card thing soon. Will show you what I have soon. Was just thinking today that I should offer up most of my extra parts for $10 plus actual shipping costs, have to pay a welder soon.

I had a nice red with gold trim fairing but no mount brackets at one time. It sat a couple days on the road side on a main street in town before it disappeared!

Hi dmgmn,
I was just at the CVMG's Red Deer Swapmeet where we took a whole bunch of stuff that was cluttering up our workshops.
Amongst them a flawless set of generic fairings & lowers. Price went from low to really low to free and still no takers.
Hopefully you'll do better in the list's classifieds.
