May I suggest that you remove the float bowls and post pictures of what you find inside
I think these are those? Looks decent aside from some gunk at the bottom.. boiling everything and then a wipe down soon
OK I am no carburetor guy But I have never seen that much gravel in the bottom
But there is no jelly
My guess that those had been a runner not taken off ..after a while
I would have tried that getting the status of the bike as Mr Skull pointed out.
But there are more than one way to skin a cat .
And as Mr 5 T points out there is already work done.
The sync is gone ..but can be reasonably adjusted.later on
And No Boiling .. Unless there somewhere is described it being possible
Never heard of it.
Say you cook the diaphragms in the carburetor don't know the actual price but can be somewhere around $ 150
for the pair.
Have you separated the carburetors so the T joint came out or was it so on the bike
will do!Check out my thread: WELSH FLAT TRACKER REVIVAL.
There are some video links showing relatively straight forward carb rebuilds on YouTube. They helped me a lot.
Your carb bowls have a bit of crap in them, no worse than mine.
Clean out with carb cleaner. You will probably need a carb rebuild kit to do this justice. There is also a ‘Carb Bible’ sheet on this site which is invaluable. I will post links later.
Yup, I do have this screw. Before using any carb cleaner, it's best to remove all the rubber parts as it can destroy them. In particular, the slide/diaphragm assemblies. They are pictured in your last photo on top of the carbs with the big springs sticking out of them. Remove them and set them far aside, marking right and left so they get put back in the same carb. Carb cleaner will shrivel up those rubber diaphragms like a used condom, lol.
Chunks as big as you have sitting in the bottom of your float bowls shouldn't get through if the filter screens are still on the petcock. There's also a filter screen snapped on the bottom of the float needle seat. You can see it at the bottom of this pic .....
Do you have this screw for the sync adjustment? Maybe you just removed it during the disassembly? .....
Spit it out. What have i done for you to call me out as a troll.
Forget it.......Instead i will remove myself completely. help the guy he is going to need all your knowledge and patience
I feel that this can’t be real. Not you skull.
I apologize. I was a little deep in my cups last night. Should have kept my thoughts to myself. Just seems like someone is having fun, but I could be mistaken. Apologies to the OP. I wish you luck.No Sir mr Skull
