What's up guys, just picked up my first 650 last night, an 81 special with 1900 orig miles. From what i was told the Fire dept used to own it and used it to demostrate how to pick up a motorcycle if you dropped it. It's not much to look at right now but i'll do her right. There was no title so i'm going to swap frame necks from the 400 i have that i have a title for.

I'm jumping up from an XS400 (which i loved) as this will be my biggest cc so far. Here are some pics of the 400 I built and just sold (copper/black) the other day and a few of the other bike i'm in the process of putting together.

I'll be sure to start a build thread here shortly as i'm thinking i'm gonna go all out on this bike. Drop seat, air ride and a few other odds and ends.

I did ride it for a few days like that but I still need to do some work on it before I'll ride it daily. I've done a setup like that on a 1/2 ton truck as the shock mounts and had no issues.

Of course.

I painted 2 coats of the copper color first, then once that dried I did a coat of black over it. Once that dried I wet sanded through the black starting with 80 grit and worked my way up to 200 till I got the look I wanted. Then a few coats of clear coat to give it a deep look. I did my helmet too, I'll get a pic of that later. The key is to take your time and keep your strokes in the same direction.
