Wont start - electronic ignition

Hey! My first post in here and my first old bike - a XS650 from 1976

I just toke the bike for a long ride with some buddies and now it wont start, the guy I bought it from removed the kickstarter..... so I can only start the bike with the electronic ignition or by doing a running start. So the lights are working (so the battery isn't flat I guess?), but when I try to start the bike it sounds a bit like:

It's just the starter. Look up Starter Gear Fix. It involves replacing or tightening a spring, and replacing a gear if it's too worn. Done with the right side case cover off. While you're in there consider getting the kicker working too -- can be useful when the weather's cold.
