Working with aluminum?

Thought I would throw another question at you guys. Since you all seem to have more experience than me at this metal working stuff. I'm a wood guy but learning to love metal.*

I'm working on the forward control for the rear brake and have switched it into a pull setup. The control consists of a center shaft that has the pedal portion on it and then a second arm that will pull the rear lever. I've been trying to figure out how can attach both levers together so that when I push the pedal the second lever moves and pulls the brake. I have a miller 175 welder and some aluminum wire that works and could try welding it but that means the angle is permanent and not moveable. Any ideas that could try that would allow me to adjust the angle if I don't like the original one?

Sharp tools with good geometry and a rigid setup. You can machine a majority of Al at high speeds without (liquid) coolant, but your best bet is to be safe and use some lubrication for at home manufacturing.
