The best one is the TCI system that the bike originally came with. I'm converting a points XS650 to a TCI XS650 with OEM parts. YMMV
You should already have all those parts and wiring, right?

If money is no object, a Vape (Powerdynamo) would be my choice for an aftermarket setup. I have Vape (Powerdynamo) on my RD350, and it has worked flawlessly for 7-8 years. I feel that crank triggered ignitions like the stock TCI and Vape have better potential for precise ignition timing.

I think non-North American exports had points through '83?

However, Vape or OEM TCI are both very good IMO
