Wanted - xs650 engine

Buddy of mine gave me a rolling chassis of a xs 650...think its early 70's...no title. Looking for a motor to get the build started. I got a shipping address in Ogdensberg NY but if you're anywhere within a couple of hours from there, I could pick it up.

Would prefer a something with compression/non-seized, but as long as its not completely pooched, I'm interested.

Just found out the frame I have is a RD400 and not a XS650....mods cant nuke this thread.....

I have a 78 engine i may decide to part with, it needs a top end job, i'm not too far for you to pick it up .

I'm still undecided but how about 250 (canadian!) for the engine or 375$, if you want the BS38 carbs also.

It the engine on this pic, it had 155 compression last time i checked.

HEy Loosetrucks....I just sent you a couple of emails. Just checked the frame, turns out it is a '77 RD400...not an XS 650 like my buddy thought it was. Don't think its gonna fit

Oh too bad, i was about to reply that i was ok to sell it.
Good luck finding a RD400 engine in good shape, two strokes engines die younger...

...yeah...Im looking at options. maybe a SR series engine....not a fan of the RD 2 stroke. More custom work involved though....thanks anyways.
