His second to last pic is a perfect side shot, Divide it into 1' squares and you can work out the dimentions from that. Use the motor as the reference for the dimentions. Easy:D

Actually if you are ½ decent with a computer just open up MS Excel. Set the column and row heights so that you have squares and then past the picture as a background image in excel. When you print it you will already have the grid displayed on top. If you need to adjust the scale just change the row and column height again. I’ve used this method several times.

1) Save the image to PC
2) Open Excel
3) Adjust row and Columns to make them square.
4) Click on the “Page Layout” tab on the ribbon menu.
5) In the “Page Setup” group, click on the “Background” button
6) Select your image
7) Find something in the image that you can use to set scale.
8) Adjust the columns and rows to the required scale.

I had a look at the Excel program and i could do a better job by hand with a pencil, ruler and compass.

Moving the vertical and horizontal and having 64 pixels each way gives me a oblong box.
A ruler and pencil is easier

the thing is for me it is quicker and easier to do as i said rather than learn to use a program then transfer pixels or whatever to mm or inches and eyeballing is not good enough when getting true measurments for a project as this would be.

No more hijacking c'ya
