So......I will be getting drag bars unless some1 can convince me otherwise. I want the area cleaned up of the clutter. OK, I'm getting around...i googled and searched. some old threads on handlebar switchmounts popped up with dead links.

Lets get some up-2-date pics on everyone's switch boxes and custom mounts...hidden, moved, etc. Who's got the 'clapper' as their ignition switch?

Post pics of your custom work please...i need ideas and i'm sure others would love it too. If you fab'd something up, please write a little ditty so the fellow community can possibly do the same or similar.

For my wife's bobber I used the following. Build pics can be found here http://www.roadstarraider.com/index.php?topic=12634.0

For the left side i used this. It was the smallest one I could find for a reasonable price. Since the bike was for my wife I decided signals would be beneficial but if it were mine I'd skip the signals and do something more like what I did on the right side. I like the throwback look of those simple switches and mounts.

On the right side i made my own from this. It's connected to the Pamco as a kill switch and on/off. Rated at 25A at 12V DC and mounted using a cheap P-clamp from autozone. The front Master cylinder came from ebay as well and was like $20 for two of them.

I use a second one of these at the center of my Handlebars just above my mini speedo mounted with a P-clamp to be the on/off for all the lighting.

I also ditched the keyed ignition mounting a simple $10 intermittant rubber button switch from oreilly just above the rear brake pivot near the upright of the frame. Drilled a half inch hole for it. It looks like this but has a longer threaded part.

To keep the bike safe I also added a digital guard dog unit (the relay style one's) and wired it up to the Pamco. This makes it so you cannot start the bike without the toggle being withing 8' or so of the bike.

Its a good little switch housing. I leave the signals on constantly but that's because I'm used to the auto cancel on my raider. :)

Hi,

I'm on the road so can't post a pic. Have a look at these.

I installed a pair on my last street tracker build (on a 225 Yamaha Scorpio). Used renthal low bars in aly and cut holes to conceal the wiring inside the bars. Clean custom look with a bit of fiddling. The XS will be getting this treatment this wet season....

Photo to come......

Posh switches are very nice looking. Haven't used them myself but the ones I have seen have looked very nice.

I saw some on a bike by Exile Cycles that looked nice and clean. They are expensive though... too rich for my blood - http://www.gripace.com/

Love the posh one's. Was going to do them but they are damn expensive for what they are. With the Yen being down now you might be able to get them cheaper from his site in Japan. Two years ago he was willing to ship to the USA but at that time with the Yen up they would have been something like $100US plus shipping.

very nice. just wish they were cheaper....like me! i wonder if i can fab up a block like that posh unit. hmm.
