Not mine but I have been looking for more info on this bike:
xs650scrambler.jpg

I saved this pic from over at the old 650rider forum, I guess its more of a street scrambler than tracker. I've been told the swingarm is off a Radian. I really want to build something like this, Maybe with a set of high pipes.

- i dont know if this is the same bike with a different paint job, but although similar it does have a different number plate...both this one and the above in grey come from holland, have the same styling and very similar number plates...the bike below is owned by Steven Snoep

Looks to be the same bike to me, I really want to know more about the build. Thats exactly the kind of bike I want to build. Something not too nice to take thru the mud but could be a daily driver.

Well here are mine.

The First bike is my first real build.

Second bike is what I building right now.

The last is what happens when you store a bike at your grandmothers over the winter.

bike2.jpg

Here's my bike. It's an 1980 with about 22k miles on it. It was a rusty junker that
had been crashed.

I completely tore it down... removed all the unnecessary frame mounts for the seat
etc... removed the centrestand mounts... had the frame refinished... installed all new
suspension front and rear.. used lowered 10.5 shocks in the back and lowered the
front 2 1/4 inches. Rebuilt the carbs... installed new clutch... shift shaft... all new
wheel bearings, powdercoated tons of bits... bobbed the rear fender... all new guages,
clutch/brake controls.. etc. It's about 99% complete at this point. Has mikesxs performance 2 into one header and pipe... new fuel tank... aside from a few nuts and
bolts here and there, and not ripping the motor to pieces, it's been redone to the best
of my skills.

The seatpan is out for some work, then upholstery. Just need to figure out how to get
the turn signal LED's to work...and toss some mirrors on. It's going to be ridden lots,
looking forward to it.

This is my first complete motor out rebuild... and I have learned lots of great things.

Some frustrations, but overall a great experience.

The style of my bike is a lowrider.... whatever that means. That's what I call it.

Here's a project I'd been working on for a while. Just needs the front brakes and cables. Anybody have any experience with cables on apehangers? No stock throttle/clutch cables will work....

rode her for 10 years, totally unreliable electrics ,fixed them up then garaged her for 3 years,
Picture 138.jpg
the forum has inspired me to to a rebuild

Got it running today, Not running great but I'm getting close:

DSC01175.jpg

I thought about running it without mufflers for a while, i dont think thats going to happen. Its really loud and I pass by two state troopers houses on the way home from work at 10:00 p.m. All thats left to do is fab up the seat mount and wire up the Lucas tailight and its ready for a test ride.

Total investment so far : $384, I just might make my goal of $500 if I can get the carbs going.

I don't think I ever posted pictures of my TX in this thread, so here it goes. Not that I can compete with some of the other 650's in this thread! =O
