Here's my bike. It's an 1980 with about 22k miles on it. It was a rusty junker that
had been crashed.
I completely tore it down... removed all the unnecessary frame mounts for the seat
etc... removed the centrestand mounts... had the frame refinished... installed all new
suspension front and rear.. used lowered 10.5 shocks in the back and lowered the
front 2 1/4 inches. Rebuilt the carbs... installed new clutch... shift shaft... all new
wheel bearings, powdercoated tons of bits... bobbed the rear fender... all new guages,
clutch/brake controls.. etc. It's about 99% complete at this point. Has mikesxs performance 2 into one header and pipe... new fuel tank... aside from a few nuts and
bolts here and there, and not ripping the motor to pieces, it's been redone to the best
of my skills.
The seatpan is out for some work, then upholstery. Just need to figure out how to get
the turn signal LED's to work...and toss some mirrors on. It's going to be ridden lots,
looking forward to it.
This is my first complete motor out rebuild... and I have learned lots of great things.
Some frustrations, but overall a great experience.
The style of my bike is a lowrider.... whatever that means. That's what I call it.
