Tell me about, I finally ordered my new tires
I thought I might share my bike for my first post on the forum, nothing special compared to some of the bikes in this thread!
Old girl is a 78 Special with just over 13k on the clock. It was bought new by my dad's friend and drummer in his band. My dad bought it off him when his buddy needed money for a new drum set, had it painted blue (it was maroon orginially), rode it a bit, and then parked it in the basement in 1985 and there it sat until last year. I traded him some labor on his shed roof and the bike became mine. It's my first bike, and I've been slowly cleaning it up as well as riding it on my hour commute to/from work. She's bone stock other than a fresh seat cover and less goofy looking handlebars, but I have some plans for her when winter rolls around!

Well I finished mine up (aside from some starting issues and a weeeee oil leak!)
I like it...It's amazing to me how different your special looks when it's all murdered out.
Just had to show this. 40 years between the pics and we still get out and ride together when we can.
The 71 is just a dust collector right now but soon.....
Full disclosure; they are not the same bike.
We took a pair of XSs up to rocker box at road america last weekend, had a great time.
