    Just realized that I didn't respond to the spark question! First, check fuses under the seat. If one is gone, try a new one. (make sure you have two spares!) Sometimes a fuse just fails from heat and vibration. But usually it's doing it's job, opening up because there is a short circuit...

    The brake calipers are different because the year of manufacture are too far apart, won't fit. The fork tubes on a TX500 are 34mm, the '81 650 I think are 35mm, but you might be able to install them. The yamaha 500 and 650 share a lot of parts, but you would have to get a 650 that was made...

    I have an XS500/XS650 cafe rat and I need an ignition.
