When you twist on the throttle does it snap back immediately? The throttle tubes are just junk plastic and they can get gunked up. Could also be a throttle cable thats seen better days

thanks a lot for all of that- thats a nice write up on the kick starter. After much investigation last night, I also came to the conclusion that is must be the cam chain guide. I will check this and see how bad it is. Is this accessed through the left side case?

I'm not going to keep all the original elec. components. Just what I need to kick and have lighting. Some of the simplified diagrams I've looked at look pretty simple. But hopefully someone has one that incorporates using signals too and is a trusted and used diagram.
