Tks Weaselbeak, Can you give me the 101 on how you did it prperly. I can still srew the union in and all the way down, it won't nip up though. So can I clean it all up, apply the JB, svrew it back in, leave it a couple of days to set and good to go? If you could give detail on how you...

Engine rebuild tips (Not so common)

When removing and putting back the oil delivery pipe, use 2 x 22mm spanners so you don't; 1) twist the pipe and crack it. 2) overtighten the joining nut and strip the thread in the block. (I just learnt this the hard way)

Stripped thread at Oil Delivery Pipe

Looks like 2 with positive experinece with JB Weld. Looks like I'm thinking of the JB Weld option. I've never used and don't know anyone that has but, ro crack the pots wold be like ripping my throat out. With only 60 Klm's on the clock I don't want to be pulling it out and pulling it apart...

Stripped thread at Oil Delivery Pipe

Tks for the feedback, I might take to a local machine shop and see if they have a tap extension. I found this webite, so maybe the 12" extension would work and I could fit the 16mm union from twinsinn http://tapextension.com/product/size-charts/ What's the thoughts on this?

Stripped thread at Oil Delivery Pipe

G'day all, Looking for any ideas but think I;m just hoping for an easy out on this problem. The thread on the engine case that takes the gland nut (or whatever you call it) that the pipes fits to is stripped bad. Now this engine has a total of 60 Klm's on it from a total 750 rephase...

    The Amatuer Build

Well the bike is on the road 4 days short of 4 years. There are many thanks to the people on this site for their assistance and the tech articles they've put together. Still stuff to sort out, clutch adjustment, tuning etc but it's on the road and getting there. I hope the pics are...

    taking welding class again

Good luck with it Em, I'm hopeless and always put welding off. In the end I took the advice of a mate who is a boilermaker and spent money (lots) and bought a Lincoln 180 mig, I only use it with flux core and it has made a complete difference to my welds compared to the cheap setup previously...

G'day Back after a fairly non productive spell. Last post Feb, since then I think I've just about got the wiring figured. Frame & tank are painted and tail light mounted. I've got an issue with my fork rebuild though. I bought a pair of tubes from Mikes a fair while back and used the...
