    Fuel coming from???

I haven't had much time to get my bike sorted. Bike was running perfectly (still is) about 6 weeks ago. One float valve got stuck, so I sorted that a few weeks ago. Started the bike at the weekend only to find more fluid leaking. I can't work out where it is coming from. It seems to be in...

Setting the timing using a light

Thanks for the response. I did read that. What do I actually need to get lined up? In other words, what should I be looking at once it set properly as far as the marks are concerned?

Setting the timing using a light

Gents, Can someone point me in the right direction on how to do this properly? Never done it before, searched for a bit, but couldn't find a "how to" on it. Cheers

    What I've accomplished so far.

Cheers for that Leo. I am actually looking for sheets of neoprene or some type of closed cell foam. Intention is to just cover the seat pan. Similar to the set up on a road race bike.

    What I've accomplished so far.

Racing season is over so...... Got a bit more done. I made a couple of attempts at the seat pan which all failed miserably. I had to call in a fabricator.......sigh. I originally had the brake light attached to the rear hoop. He had a better idea and actually integrated it into the pan...

    What I've accomplished so far.

Well, between work and racing, progress has been slow. Tank is back, and I like it! I was going for polished aluminium look. In order to get that, it was powdercoated in chrome and a high gloss over the top. I am hoping that you lot will think that was accomplished, and it doesn't look...

    Look what I found...

This was in the little recess by the drain plug. Any idea as to what it is? Oh, and the valve cap is just for reference........that wasn't in there.

    Oil filter bolt

Thanks Leo. Any idea on where to source the bits? It seems my usual vendor does not carry the style I need.

    Oil filter bolt

Just did my first oil change on my '79 650..... The oil filter bolt has a spring in it, but nothing else. Shouldn't I have a ball bearing also, and a threaded cap to hold it all in?

    What I've accomplished so far.

New sprockets and chain are in place along with fresh filters. I did find this in the bottom of the motor in the little recess next to the oil plug. Oh, and the valve cap is only there for size reference. It did not come out of the motor. Any ideas what it may be?:wtf: One more...
