As far as I can tell its a 79-80 xs-sg 3g1 but the coils are from up to 79 then 80 to whatever... I have the pamco ignition how do I know what coil to order??? my numbers are 2FO-211130. Thanks!

the valves were .008 on the exhaust and .006 on the intake so out of adjustment and noisy so I put them at .004 and .002 following some videos online. curious if it is carb adjustment at all or is it just sounding like my rings are bad to everyone?

just took the tensioner off and it does not have a washer between the spring and the threaded part, there should be correct? even when I adjust it out to the point of flush when I hand spin the engine again it pops out the same way like the picture.

1 or 2mm past the edge or up to the edge? Like I said when it is running its pretty flush but turn it by hand and its out quite a bit...

I am a little confused, when the bike is running the pin moves just to the flush point of the shaft it slides in but when the bike is off and I spin it by hand it goes almost 1/16 past the end of the shaft... should I be adjusting that out then to make it flush from there?? Thank you all!

I have split tanks on my build and set up a vent tube from the top of the second tank while the main tank has a vented cap... filled up the bike with no leaks 3 days ago, went to take it out today and as soon as I moved it the gas from both tanks dumped out from the vent tube on the second tank...

I have a se of mag wheels off my 1980 xs650 and am looking to trade for the same size in spoke wheels that will fit this year. Front rim is a 19 inch wheel and the back is a 16 inch. Both wheels are in good shape and would not come with the tires.

Trying to read this on my tiny phone in the sun so I may have missed it but did you say the needle size and needle jet size? Thinking that's my issue, it's a 247 Q-2 with a 6DH7 needle... I can get flames out of my exhaust, cool and all but horrible for the paint!

the carb is off a 750 and its just the one. It seems like it would be fine with the right jetting but I can't find anyone that can point me in the right direction. It doesn't run all that bad, if it did I would say junk it too. I think its just a matter of finding the right formula. At least...

Honestly I thought the same thing, but I had it so I wanted to try. It runs on the rich side but with nothing being done to the engine itself she goes like a bat out of hell. There is no issue with lack of low or high end speed I'd just like to make is so she doesn't smoke at all.
