    rectifier max output voltage?

Thanks for feedback. Haven't been able to reply earlier. Problem solved I think. Now it doesn't go higher than 14.5 at around 3000 rpm. Is it possible that the regulator sometimes for one second leaves higher V when revving up very quickly, but then quickly adjust the V down to 14.5 again? /M

    rectifier max output voltage?

Hi What is the max output voltage from the rectifier when revving the bike 3000 and above? If I understand it correctly it shouldn't output more than 14.5 V. Or? BTW, is the regulator and rectifier the same unit? My old battery was unexpectly drained, so I kickstarted the bike and went out...

    handlebar holder damper

So, I unmounted them and the rubber looks good. Except that it just maybe is one mm to small. I added a thin washer between the upper metal bolt stop section and the upper wide washer. I wanted to keep the broad pressure from the wider washer. That did it. I think that the rubber must have been...

    handlebar holder damper

You are probably right that they are beginning to wear out. I don't think, at this stage, there is any safety problem though, since it's barely noticable. As long it's tight mounted and the rubber is whole, I can't see the danger, just that the damping might not be as good if the rubber is...

    handlebar holder damper

I think I understand now. The stop is where I run out of threads. And by adding some washers, I will be able to tight then further forcing the rubber to expand more. Right? Thanks for the tip ☺

    handlebar holder damper

During my first ride this season I notices that the handlebar holder damper seemed a bit loose. I tried to tighten them, but it seems there is a stop. Does this mean that the damper rubber is worn out? Didn't notice this last year. From outside it looks like the original ones have been changed...

handlebar not exactly 90 degress towards bike

Haven't had time to test anything yet But I sure hope that's not what have happened to my bke. I have had clubman handlebars so far and only noticed it now when I switched to a standard bar. If the tube is bent, it must have been that since I bought. But if the tube is bent, should it not...

handlebar not exactly 90 degress towards bike

Thanks. Will try. Wouldn't I need to loosen the upper tree clamp bolts as well? Is it bad for the bike somehow to drive around like this?

handlebar not exactly 90 degress towards bike

I noticed a peculiar thing with the bike today. When driving straight the handlebar does not seem exactly 90 degrees towards the bike. If you get what I mean. When having the handlebar exactly 90 degrees, the bike tend to turn slightly. How can this be? I thought that the forks lower part self...

    Clutch cable housing to long?

Aha, that could be it. Mystery solved, case closed. There is always something with this old bike. :D I will however also remove the cover and measure the length as well. Just a curious question, how should the OEM adjuster wheel look like and does the perch looks like OEM? And when the new...

    Clutch cable housing to long?

Thanks I did everything by the book, except that I couldnt connect the cable to the perch and the adjuster wheel slot, if I had already connected it to the operator arm/wormgear (strange name indeed). I didnt want to destroy the wire by bending it to much. However, encouraged by your...

    Clutch cable housing to long?

fredintoon, thanks for the measurements. How did you measure it, from the end nipple to the beginning of the housing? Don't know how it could have slipped my mind not to save the old one to compare with. I do save a lot, just in case. But sometimes I just decides to free up some space. If you...

    Clutch cable housing to long?

Interesting 5twin. But does it not also have to do with the amount of freeplay between the wire and the housing? Less will make the clutch to engage/disangage earlier (lever almost out) and more will make it to engage/disengage later (that is, lever closer to the bar). And in my case I've run...

    Clutch cable housing to long?

Guess my question is, would shortering the cable housing make it possible to adjust the lever to pull and release closer to the bar? I'm not able to create any more slack/free play in the lever, since the lever adjuster is screwed all the way in.All adjustments are max loosiness.

Brake system restoration - THANK YOU ALL!

Just wanted to thank you all who contributed to my threads about restoring my whole brake system. And of course you all who wrote older threads which I've been reading witg great interest. It's been a small but interesting journey. Did some mistakes but learnt a lot. And yes, the brakes are not...
