    H4 headlights vs sealed beam

Fo shizz... Let me know if you have any more questions. The lens I run on the Honda is a Delta glass housing like this one. I think it is a 7 inch on that bike, but I'm sure they make them in any size. I think my XS is a 5.25in.

Who knows Harley brakes? School me?

So I've made the mistake of deciding to go Harley wheels on my XS. :) Now, I've read through countless of threads on various forums, and seemed like a pretty easy conversion. Easy... yes, if you have all the right info. Inexpensive... well, it could be... again if you have the right info...

    H4 headlights vs sealed beam

To run HID, you need to have an H4 lens so you can replace the halogen bulb for the HID. A sealed beam won't allow you to do that, so I would suggest that if you want to run this eventually, that you grab a headlight with an H4 lens. I ended up buying a used headlight from a Sportster for my XS...

    H4 headlights vs sealed beam

It tends to be a touchy topic sometimes because of a difference in the beam pattern on cars, but I have installed an H4 HID light into my H4 housing on my 76 Honda CB550F. Talk about a difference in brightness and being visible. I have never had a problem with anyone flashing me for blinding...

anyone have good luck dealing with lowbrow

Nothing but positive experiences when dealing with Kyle and the crew. My number one choice for just about everything. I've never had a problem with communication either. Always received immediate replies. Maybe your order fell into a time when they were participating in some kind of an event...

HD rear wheel on XS question

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll get in touch with Gordon for sure. I'd much rather support a fellow member. Since my post, I ended up buying both styles of rims, a 21 & 16 from a 2000 Dyna Wide Glide, and a set of 16s from a 95 Road King. Since the Wide Glide rims are already black and...

    Neck Bearing Sizes

Thanks BigJimmy for the suggestion I guess I deserve that. :D I'm usually a big fan of the search function, but the 83 if a bit of an oddball year, so this time I figured I would ask before I order an adapter from someone who wanted the outer race dims. I figured they are all the same but was...

    Neck Bearing Sizes

Hey guys, I have an 1983 XS650 frame and want to get new neck bearings for my newly acquired DNA springer. Are all the outer races the same size for all previous years? Or did they change throughout the XS production run? Much thanks for any info :)

Which Harley brakes to use w Harley wheels?

So I got me some Harley wheels... I was told they are from a 2000 Dyna Wide Glide. A 21in front and 16in rear. After doing some searching, I understand I will have to have axles and spacers fabbed up, and my axle plates adjusted to make things fit... I would like to run a TC Bros springer...

Air pod covers for rainy riding

You might be in for a lot of explaining when your significant other finds out that the bottoms of her pantyhose are missing. :D So just tell her you've developed a weird fetish!

Air pod covers for rainy riding

The pods on Jet-skis are called flame arrestors. Do a search for jet-ski (Kawasaki JS750 or Yamaha Superjet). I had the same problem on my Jet-Ski after doing subs and bought one of the K&N prefilters and it works great. I think they are coated with water repellent because water just beads on...

    Question: Master cylinder bore sizes

Thanks litlebill... mine is kind of a tossed salad of a bunch of years :) Officially registered as an 83 but I have the disk mags front and back. Now to try and figure out what bore the Harley MCs and the Gixer MCs are :)

    Question: Master cylinder bore sizes

Hey guys, I've searched the forum, I really did. Does anyone know what the bore sizes were for the front and rear master cylinders on an 81 XS650? I want to run a different rear master because the stock has strange mounting points and am trying to figure out what other bike to grab it from...

    Upside down gauges

Yup, it looks like this guy just mounted them upside down. That would personally drive me nuts :D. I'm pretty sure that all you have to do if you want to do it the right way is make overlays. I changed the gauges on my CB550 to white face last year. The needles are just press fitted onto the...
