I have a 1980 Special I picked up cheap enough but it has no compression in 1 cylinder. It is a really clean bike so I can't decide on fixing it or parting it out. I'm not very experienced with engine internals so I am leary of trying to repair it. How tough is it to tear into one of these motors?

I recieved the TC Bros Oil Tank for my build. The end caps really are a tight fit. What have you guys done so that if they need to come off you don't damage paint? I have worked one end down to where I can slide it on and off now but it would still take paint off if removed. Thanks for any imput.

Hey guys, I have been lurking here for awhile now and thought I would finally introduce myself. I live in So. Oregon and ride a 07 1100 V-star Classic. This summer I picked up a 80 XS650 runner. I have since torn it down and installed a hardtail. This should be a good winter project.
