help! Pma, Boyer, mikuni new set up

Ahh well I am possibly the biggest idiot. But went through and triple double checked everything and wasn’t getting enough fuel due to a kink in the hose and poor routing of my fuel line. Plus re-gapped and cleaned plugs. Running now so I can get adjusting, looks good so far and think my timing...

help! Pma, Boyer, mikuni new set up

I haven’t used a degree wheel while marking TDC but used a straw in the spark plug hole. I think I better do the degree wheel before I break my leg. Any tips for setting pilot screw and idle for new Mikunis?

help! Pma, Boyer, mikuni new set up

Help! I am tearing my hair out and my legs are battered and bruised from all the kick starting! I have recently rebuilt a xs2 motor and have put a xscharge PMA, Boyer bransden kit and VM Mikunis. I have struggled setting the timing but think I have it pretty close. I marked TDC on the flange...

    RD400 rear wheel swap

Will take a few more tomorrow of the chain angle. Does an xs2 motor have the front sprocket mounted closer to the centre of the bike? Or does does the wider frame of an xs1 mean the front sprocket is closer to the centre of the bike?

    RD400 rear wheel swap

Hi guys bit of a long story. I have done a bit of research on swapping the RD400 wheel onto my XS-1. I sort of fell into it as I managed to pick up a cheap wheel, 18inch, has 4 bolt sprocket so I assume it is off a RD400. Are there variations of the 18inch mag wheel? After my research I...

How-To: Rebuild XS650 Forks / Install Lowering Kit

They measure 35mm I haven't measured the length yet. I'm pretty sure they have been apart at some stage as the washer that seats in the top of the spring is missing on one. Any idea if the mixed parts would affect the functionality or safety of these?

How-To: Rebuild XS650 Forks / Install Lowering Kit

Can anybody help me out with what I have here? Bought these thinking they were a 77 early style 35mm set of forks. On stripping them down they appear to have the early style cap and top end spacer but they seem to have the late style rod at the bottom. Are these a standard variation or a...

    Replacing 35mm fork tubes

Yip awesome done! Mocked up at the moment and have got my hands on the right length steering stem for the trees but it's on a 34mm lower so will grind and press it out. Then press it into the 35 mm lower I have. Feeling achievable now.

    Replacing 35mm fork tubes

Thanks for the advise, how is that space between the fork leg and the speedo drive created? I'm putting it together with all second hand parts I have bought separately so I haven't seen it together or pulled it apart myself
