What type of gas do you use in your XS650? I have 1980 XS with after market carbs and i dont see any differance with how the bike operates/handles, if i use super or regular gas. So to save a few dollars i use regular....should i see a differance?

I have 1980 xs and the spark plugs only last about 200 miles before there are shot. I am a using the factory plug NGK BPR7ES with a gap of 027-031. When I install a new set of plugs the bike turns over on the second or third kick and after a fewe rides it just gets worse...i have to kick it 20...

Went out for a ride today and lost the end cap on my fake round oil tank under my seat....the end cap is 4 1/2 round and has a 1 1/4 lip. Any one know were i can get just one side?

I havnt started my bike in a few weeks due to the cold/snow and today i started it up and noticed a oil leak between the the top and middle section of the motor next to the muffler mounting bolts. looks like a gasket is in between the two sections. Can i fix this leak without removing the motor...

How much exhaust tape (wrap) would i need to cover a 3 foot exhaust pipe. I want to use 2 inch wide black tape. Some one told me 3 feet of tape for evey 1 foot of pipe with a 1/4" overlap. So, if i use that math, i need about 10 feet of tape for a 3 foot pipe...??? :banghead:

first oil change, so i have a question, after the oil filter is removed and cleaned..i reinstalled the oil filter and tighren the bolt....what is the postion of the screw of the oil bypass...should the screw be all the way down inside the filter or fshould the screw head be flush with the filter...
