    TX650 ('73)

Great to know (mailman) I have the compression cover in a parts bin but none of the internal components (that sit inside the cover are present). From what I have seen/read the XS '72 carbs are identical to the '73.....It's unfortunate that these parts were also given to me in a box, so...

    2021 XS650 Calendar Proof and Pre-Sale Link

Tried to place order for 2 but only seems to be a presale assessment (ie, gathering info so you don't make hundreds more than you need). There was no place or link to select when opening the link attached (to order or make payment). Was I missing something?? Thanks for any info (Bob)

2 questions: one for rear grab bar & carburator diaphragm

Ok...I will check when I get to the shop this afternoon. I'm guessing my seat pan will not have any mounting holes present. What year is your XS650? Do you need a grab handle? Happy Friday.... (Bob)

2 questions: one for rear grab bar & carburator diaphragm

I didn't think so "txxs". Was this handle for the 70, 71 & 72 only??....of course I found one for dirt cheap too. Did this mount to the seat pan or the rear chrome fender (just curious)? Thanks for the illustration...very helpful.

2 questions: one for rear grab bar & carburator diaphragm

Above should read JBM Industries (not JBL)….sorry....in most cases the diaphragms are under $20/carburetor.

2 questions: one for rear grab bar & carburator diaphragm

My '73 TX650 needs new diaphragms so I contacted JLB Industries which makes these thin membranes but need to know what carburetors I have. My service manual reads BS38 x 2.....but doesn't read Mukoni. I thought most early Yamaha's if not all had Mukoni! The cover over my diaphragm reads "Solex"...

Purchased this beauty from the original owner who only sat on it for ~8500 miles. It sat unused for many years (last registered in 1997)….slowly getting it to shine as it used to, but may need a few items re-chromed. Rebuilding carbs & petcocks...hoping to hear her purrrrrrr soon.

In search of 1973 TX650 owners manual

Hoping to track down an official owners manual for my newly acquired '73 TX650. I've been looking for a few weeks (even before I purchased my latest ride). There's one on ebay for the 1974 TX650A, but would rather have the one the bike initially was sold with.....any assistance is greatly...

    '73 TX650 decompression cover & cable question

Thanks for the insight....I was wondering how the heck the mini-lever would start the engine. Being the purest I am I plan to return this bike to stock condition, so will need to locate the correct tappet head cover in order to terminate the cable (found an NOS cable for $25!). Bike was last...

Just picked up this bike which only has 5400 miles registered on the speedometer. Needs some TLC to get back on the road, but will not take long. My question is re: the decompression cable which originates in right side handle bar grip area as a mini-lever & travels to a certain cover on the...
