Trying to buy stock exhaust because the previous owner cut off the muffler and it's just way too loud for me. What year header/exhaust will fit my 1978 Special?

    front fenders

I bought a really nice front fender on ebay for my 1978 Special but when I got them, it didn't fit. To clarify, if I bolted the 2 holes on opposite sides, the other two holes will not match up without touching the tire. Did I get the wrong fender or do I have to bend the fenders a little bit...

    sprocket and chain questions

How do I tell if my sprockets are 520 or 530? And how do I know when it's time to get new ones? I counted 18T/34T (not the standard 17T/34T), what chain should I buy? The clutch shaft is missing so I can't tell if it's going to hit it.

    brake pedal

Yes, rear disc brake. I adjusted the free play to about 1/4" but I can press down another 1 3/4" further until stop. Seems a bit much. I don't know as I've never had a bike before. I rebuilt the MC and bled the brakes until there were no more bubbles. So what give?

    shock question

I talked with Progressive and they said the 412 and 440 series have the same diameter covers, so how is it that your 412 doesn't hit the chain?

    1978 front master cylinder

I'm having second thoughts on replacing the whole MC. So I filled the reservoir with brake fluid and it leaked a little but that's before I put the bolts on. I'm sure once the 4 bolts are on, it'll be tight. Do you think I am good to go and safe? Or should I go back to original plan of...

    regulator or rotor?

Hope I didn't do something really stupid. My only Ohm setting seems to be "Ohm X1K" which is what I have been using. Can you take a look at my meter and tell me if I have been using the right setting? In addition, I have never checked my stator. Should I automatically assume that since I...

    regulator or rotor?

Green wire from harness to ground - meter moves to 0. With the alternator cover removed and brushes off, the two leads from meter placed on the inner and outer rings of the rotor - the meter moves to 0. Then with the regulator plugged in and key turned to on... the fuse didn't blow.
