I actually just grinded my old hinge mounts off along with the helmet lock and the seat pinches on and stays solid and flush without having to fasten it in any way... I was pretty amazed actually.
It cost me a little over 200 shipped but Its super sleek and super comfortable. Im finally ready to put many many miles on this newly rebuilt engine. I feel its the best mix of classic looks and functionality.
Looking to trade my brand new Gordon Scott exhaust for a sett of exhaust with mufflers so my neighbors stop complaining. Also think I might like the look of a muffled exhaust better.

All it needs is a gauge cluster, side covers, handlebars, exhaust and a seat to make it completely stock you're looking at $160 max .I purposely it that way. I guess I should mention that the handlebars and the stock exhaust come with it.
I might stuff it in to my sisters u-haul moving van and send it out to L.A where she will be living for the next 8 months. Maybe she will get that price? Then she can just Paypal the money.

I saw this crack today and freaked out being that I had just had this motor rebuilt. I googled XS650 engine crack and this came up.
