What is leaking from my carb, should I be concerned?

Hi all, The bike is running pretty good. I was looking under my carbs and noticed really on the left hand side (alternator side), that it looks like maybe an oil, fuel mixture is dripping from the bottom of the carb. I am slowing learning how to work on my bike and have really just messed...

    hesitation under full throttle

Question for the carb specialists, When under full throttle I have a slight hesitation when changing gear, the bike is running slightly rich, would the hesitation be caused by too much fuel until the engine catches up or too little? whilst I realize I need a smaller main jet, I'm not sure which...

I have a 77 engine with bs38 carbs and a 2 into 1. It also has a pamco and PMA setup. It runs good when just cruising around. Here is the issue. The problem occurs when I ride it hard. After I up shift and grab a bunch of throttle it gives off a burp sort of backfire but continues to...

Gas leaking from between carbs. Complete newbie here.

I recently bought a 1977 xs650 and finally passed my motorcycle test and all that. But I went to start up the bike but when I turned the gas petcocks to ON gas started to just pour out from somewhere between the carbs. I'm new to this but I'm pretty sure that's not supposed to happen. There's...

    1972 Rescue Rebuild

I picked up an abandoned project on Craigslist and I'm a little stalled out on what appears to be a carb issue and a top end leak on the left side. Here are the problems I'm noticing and would greatly appreciate any advice y'all can pass along. A little background first, it's a 1972 with a...

HELP! 1981 XS650 Carbs, Floats, Valves, etc.

MY 1981--/--650 was running a little rough last week. It had all the signs of needing a float height adjustment (from what I gathered), so I decided to spend the weekend fixing it. It started when I noticed gas leaking out of the left side carb (view from saddle) right where the float bowl...

    BS34 EZ-Adjust mixture screw

http://www.johnscycleparts.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=50 Stumbled upon this. Looks like it would work on our BS34s, but it's kind of spendy. Maybe a member can start making them, or maybe someone has a similar DIY idea.
