Thanks. I have been unable to find any info on David Jones. There is a guy named David Jones that builds seat pans, sells seat foam and complete seats. Stuff looks really nice.
Only makes them for 70,71 &72

Check this site out. Far cheaper than paying to have a seat built and sewn. I am happy with the standard seat I bought but they have many options. New steel pan, hardware and stitched cover. Nicely done. Shipped from Vietnam so it took about 6 weeks. Nicely packaged. You will need your original hinges and clasp to mount.

Good to know, thanks.I actually messaged them about a custom seat for my 75 two days ago. They responded within 12 hrs that they can custom Taylor to your needs. My request was to build an xs2 style seat with the tuck and roll on a pan that fits the 75. I have read good reports for this vendor. There are a couple members here that have bought from them in the past.
Thank you, that was very interesting. I reached out to him.

Hopefully, he made a master mold of his seat foam when he finished it so that he can make more. There is an eBay seller selling 70-72 replacement seat foams, but they ship out of the U.K. I think he could offer his at a better price if he was so inclined.
Thanks, great info. Bummer that David sold all of his foams and lost his molds. But, I'm not sure I would have sprung for one anyway -- the stuff on that HVC site is pretty spendy, especially the pans. Interesting site though.David Jones made the seat foam that I used on my XS2. He made up a whole batch of the bases and seat foams years ago and was selling them through Mark Tomlinson

I got the last one he had, in fact I was talking to David while I was searching for this foam and when he found out I bought the last one, he was surprised to find out there were any left at all. I asked David if he had any plans to make more and he told me that unfortunately his molds burned up in a shop fire.
As far as any American suppliers go, I had also sent a request to ,
https://hvccycle.net/seats/
They sell seat covers, seats and replacement foams for other vintage bikes, and I emailed them and asked if they could get one for my XS2, it took a little while for them to respond but they said yes! By that time I had already purchased the one from Mark Tomlinson.
Good luck on your search, you have to be persistent.
Thanks. I am looking for a 1970-1972 seat. Hinge and latch placement and pan are different.I have this seat from my 79f standard. It has the older cover sitter so the pan was shortened slightly. White Yamaha on back. Make offer.
