How do I adjust my steering damper? Also going over bumps the front end seems to bottom out. thanks for your help!

The steering damper.. the big black knob on top of the forks.. doesn't do anything with " bumps ".. it just firms up the steering from side to side..... you may need to pull forks.. clean and service… possible new springs…. the old springs are.... old.
Also... when you remove the steering damper.... the bottom piece it screws into.. use something like brake grease.... I've seen many of this old dampers seize in that bottom piece...
