You know I don't see any way to mount it to the seat at all. The seat base must be different. I wonder if anyone has ever mounted one to the fender instead. The seat would still open. That might be a little hached up.

as you already have the bolts-under-the-seat grabrail try putting two M6 or M8 Nutserts into your TX650's seat pan so it bolts under the seat as the design intended.
Or perhaps locate a steel tube grabrail from a '78 XS650SE that bolts to the upper shock & rear fender mounts to see if it'll fit your TX?
