Rims look good! You have a nice scooter there already. Great thread.

Man look at all that bling! Yep that Upper aluminum clamp does look best. I guess I'll have to add that to my list. Thanks a lot. Ha Ha.

the top clamp being polished was the poll winner.... i know i should have just painted it, now as soon as the sun comes out next year... i am going to have to wear a welding mask to see

It's my original tank. It has a few minor scratches but polishes up nice. I like what you did to your top clamp. I had mine powder coated so I changed the bar clamps to silver. I'm spending way more than I thought I would and still have a load of stuff to buy. Did you get your front fender at Mikes? Mine is dinged and just doesn't look nice.

Got some stuff done today, woke up this morning and laced up my front rim, [/IMG]
now i need to attack the rear... damn i have to do this twice?!? lol

at least the rear is better than the front was,,, must have been a bit drier in the garage it was in towards the back...
IMG_0340_zps0d62ffa9.jpg

then I got to work on my fork ears, had a helluva time.
I put out an sos last night on the board here, but then after looking up down and sideways at info, i found that I had put two of the bushings in the wrong baggie....:banghead:
[/IMG]
so i got the ears, bucket, and inst cluster going...

then, this afternoon, fellow forum member SSERES came by and helped me with some stuff. if you want to see a great engine build thread, check his out! the bike had a quart in it and i have it on that crate... so we lifted it, put a collection bin under the crate, and set her back up there, that way I could drain the oil as to get the right cover off and polish it.
[/IMG]
so all in all not a bad day, oh except....
I dropped my headlight bucket on concrete, lesson learned, when playing with stuff that took me forever to paint.... put down some cardboard.:wtf:

Love your build thread , nice clean bike . Hey , is there a bracket on your front brake caliper ? Reason I ask is on my bike ( a Canadian model with dual disc, the discs are smaller than the single disc ) the brake caliper just bolts right on to the tabs on the lowers . Most American XS have tabs on both forks even though most just have a single disc on the right side . So, was there some kind of bracket holding your caliper on ? ( I want to switch to single to save weight .) Thanks.
