1980 Rebuilt Engine w/ Wiseco 750 kit $1500
I built this engine a few years ago for a chopper project that never got off the ground. The plan was a rat chopper, so I didn't repaint the cases or polished the covers. There's no oil in it, the covers are on just to keep out the crud.
The engine is out of a 1980 Special with some parts from a 79 including the advance rod and mechanical advance (was planning on using a pamco ignition).
Engine was fully disassembled and cleaned.
New parts:
Wiseco 750 Kit ($500)
New Gasket kit ($70)
Top end Copper Sealing Washer Kit ($7)
Engine Oil Seal Kit ($47)
Copper Drain Plug Crush Gaskets ($5)
Valve Stem Seals ($20)
Headpipe Exhaust Gaskets ($4)
Sump Oil Filter ($35)
Oil Filter Screen ($14)
Endless Cam Chain ($79)
Aluminum Rocker Shaft Plug ($18)
Front cam chain guide bar ($34)
Machinist Work: Old sleeves removed, jugs bored out, new Wiseco 750 pressed in, and new sleeves honed, plus I had him inspect the the head and gave the valves and guides the OK. ($400)
So that's over $1200 invested.
Plus I lapped the valves and lightly ported the intake and exhaust ports, essentially cleaning all the casting defects with a dremil and tiny flap wheels. Then very meticulously re-assembled the engine. The only thing it needs is 1 tappet cover stud ($3).
Price does not include shipping. I'd prefer local pickup or we can meet near Grand Rapids or Lansing. If you want me to ship, then I would have to charge to build a create.
