I have a spare set of Mikes XS wheels with good spitfires on them that are fit for a '78 650 Standard. I would like the taller/skinner rear wheel for my Heritage Special (1981) along with the front wheel. Is this possible?

1981 Yamaha Heritage Special/'78 Standard Wheel Swap?

I know someone that went the other way....'81 16" rear to a '78 standard frame, had to change out the chain guard and the rod that holds the rear brake housing secure. These were changed due to the '81 Special rear tire being wider than the '78 Standard. You may be able to swap without having to change either. Front should be a straight swap no problem. Not sure of the comparable shock length.
Easy to swap if the brakes are the same. If not then there is a bit more to it.
