1st Post for this newb

I meant no disrespect at all sir. I will more than likely use the hardtail kit from the likes of TC Bros. so the title will remain valid. I have to say, though, riding the bike "as is" at lunch time was a hoot. There is a part, albeit small part, of me that would like to keep it original, but then my search for a chopper donor would have to start all over with no money to spare.
You gotta do your own thang Scott. Just forgive us old coots for shedding a bit of a tear at the loss of such a beautiful bike in such nice condition. Once more for sentimental reasons.

ScottRod I'll try it another way with less tongue in cheek.
You stand to make more value(money) with your business by showcasing your work with less expensive model than the loss you might incur
from the conversion.
Even in pristine condition that bike will net you maybe a $1K profit one time.
Using it to show your talents (the marketing value) is less costly than doing it with a Harley.
And will repeat itself as new customers are attracted to your work with this one conversion.
If you sell multiple jobs from the one conversion that investment keeps paying you.
I think it is a smart move (sharp pencil) on your part.
Long story short I like your plan and think it is a good/solid one.
