73 years ago today...

Mick, thanks for posting this. A part of NZ history l knew little or nothing about. But, l have to say it got me to thinking. Just before I left NZ back in 73, a cousin of mine, who was very close to my family, married a former RNZAF pilot, Les Jeffs, who was also in squadron 14. Looking at the picture l am not sure which one is him, being almost 30yrs later, people looks change. He never talked about his flying days, but remained active at the flight museum in Auckland. Les was terrific guy, gone but never to forgotten.

Here is a picture of my father who ended up a Flying officer in the airforce after the war. Picture is in one of the first jet aircraft used by the RNZAF....lets see who can guess which type of aircraft it is....
