82' Special to Pamco wiring question

I have an 82' Special that I am building. I was using this wiring diagram.


But now with the new Pamco I am thinking this is the right one to use.


My question is what do I do with the pickup wires? Do I need to do anything different with the brushes?

The Dude,

You can just leave the pickup wires as they are. Just tie them back out of the way. There are no changes to the brushes required.

Thanks, that's what I figured. Great looking system. The fit & finish are nice. Install was a breeze.

I wouldn't use the first diagram, it was written by some one who has no idea what ignition the XS650 used.
In that diagram it says the XS650 has a CDI. Thats wrong, the XS650 never in all the years it was produced had a CDI. It used points up till 80 then used a TCI.
The CDI and TCI are two entirely different ignitions. Kinda like saying an automatic transmission is the same as a standard transmission.
Use the second diagram.
