Air filter maintance

I washed my stock type air filters last night.
the bike has been running a bit off lately, in trying to think if anything had changed, I thought maybe the filters are dirty.
The manual says just blow them out with air seemed weird, but that's what I've been doing.
This time I said to myself that aint doing a thing. So I poured Purple de-greaser over them and got all the foam wet and let them soak for 5min the washed them in hot water and plenty of Dawn dish wash soap. Yuk they where bad dirty.
Flung out most of the water on the lawn after a good rinse. Let them dry on top of the computer over night.

The Bike runs much better, it can breath again.
So anyway the small stuff can get the best of you. Learn Learn

These are the replacement from MikesXS and seemed to take the washing well.

I've been washing mine in dish soap also.Blowing with air may be OK for half way through the season, but once a year a good washing is the way to go.

For pod filters, I'd go to your local auto parts store and get a K&N Filter cleaning kit. Comes with a solvent for cleaning and filter oil.
