Anyone Installed "P" Shooter Exhaust ?

Starting my "pre" work on the 1978 XS Special and I saw a note regarding the installation of "P" Shooters. Apparently the center stand must be either removed or modified to accommodate the exhaust.

Anyone experienced this ?

Do you have any pictures of the mufflers? Maybe we can figure out why you might need to remove the center stand. Maybe you could create a center-stand stop so they didn't hit the exhaust.

I assume it must be that kind of muffler

a freind of mine did and they wouldn't let the bike rev out in the end he shortened the header pipe and welded a sleeve up the middle of the p shooter

Thanks for the comments.... The P shooter, or Old Brit., style is what I was hoping to acheive, however, I may reconsider the pipe style, possibley the Taper Tip as they worked well on my 1984 750 Virago.

Curious as to the pipes preventing the engine from reving out..... must be too much baffle or possibly the lenght of the pipe as suggested.
