I don't like the same ole kick pedals everyone uses so I wanted to make one out of wood, but on a budget. Started by going to Lowes and getting a couch leg the right size. Then bought a triangle shaped file to make some of the grooves. Also bought 1/2 inch wide flat bar steel I plan on wrapping around both sides of it. Like old wooden barrels are done. Then plan on staining it the right color once I get my stuff back from paint. I plan on mounting by tapping threads on the end of the old kick bar and bolt it on. I cut two flat sides onto my couch leg today and used the filer to cut grooves for grip. Tomorrow I'm gonna cut grooves so the flat bar will sit flush with the wood you can kind of see the pencil marks I have to signify where it will lay. I'll have more pictures tomorrow.
