Auto Advance Unit circlips?

Just broke one on my bike, 300km. from home.

Is the standard term for these clips a 3mm E clip?

I saw another topic on it recently, but I am unable to find it.

4mm external retaining ring - made to fit a 4mm diameter groove on a 5-7mm diameter shaft.

Sweet, thanks! I guess a standard circlip would do the job just as well.

Surprised it wasn't made of spring steel.

I think they are. The originals are just all fatigued from age, that's why they break when removing them sometimes.
