Can anyone tell me what this small brass tube is on the left hand side of the carb?
This on the left hand side carb ,the one with the cold start on it .
There isn't one on the other carb, have I lost one or was there only one to begin with.
These are off my 72 and are B38's as far as I know .
Thanks

It looks a bit short, but maybe not. It's the pick up tube for the enricher circuit. It draws fuel up out of the float bowl and feeds it to both carbs through a crossover tube.

That is the choke take-off tube. It draws raw fuel up into the choke when you turn the choke on. Your '72 BS38s only have one choke and it's on the left carb. That means only having that one take-off tube, so no, you're not missing one in the other carb. It was never there. The left carb shares it's rich choke mix with the right carb through a cross-over hose. If you look at your right carb, you will see the choke location is just covered over with a blanking plate .....
