Battery

I am in need of a new AGM 160 cca battery for my 72 XS650B. I am currently using a battery from MikesXS, but it is aging. I have used the Motobatt brand, but am not a fan of the connection posts. Can someone recommend a battery and where I can get one. Thanks.

I forgot to mention, Mike's XS does not carry a AGM battery for the XSB anymore.

Well , I just drive right past Batteries plus to a local motorcycle shop. Enjoy the company and buck up for a $100 Yuasa.. Always been that way and never experience failure . -RT

Do you have a number? AGM? What's the CCA?

I do wish I had a correct number for a 72, My bikes have been 77/78 and use a YTX14AHL-BS, I doubt that is correct for 72. Please do refer to tech threads as I'll bet your info is there...

In my 70-74 factory book it calls for a 12n 5.5-3B, dimensions are in inches,5.36 x 2.36 x 5.16 or in mm's 134 x59 x129.
Might try cross referencing by number or dimensions.
You might have to use a battery manufactures cross reference than an online seller.
Would it be possible to change your battery box for the later 14L-A2, battery? If so you can upgrade to a 180-200 cca battery

Early manuals and parts lists are a bit screwed up on this.

The XS2/TX650 battery was 12N12A-4A.
