Seems like I always see sport bike guys in thier gear, but have their GFs riding on back, wearing nothing but a halter top, short shorts and flip-flops.

I see that kind of thing alot. Not quite that bare but nearly.
Lots of crotch rocket riders in shorts, tank tops, flip flops and a full face helmet.
All I can say is if they survive the crash and find just how uncomfortable regrowing 95% of your skin back, is they will ride with better gear next time. Or not ride at all.
