I am the owner and operator of Speakeasy Motors, I build full custom bikes and hot rods, specializing in metric bikes, primarily XS's and CB's.
I am currently in the R&D/ first run production stage of my own parts line, and my first part is XS650 specific and thought you guys may be interested.

Pictures are attached, they are MADE IN THE USA!
Right in the Hudson Valley, NY
CNC machined billet aluminum with Lexan centers to see your valvetrain operate.
Comprised of T6061 Billet Aluminum with high density Lexan centers, special oil/gas resistant recessed o-rings, and liquid teflon coated stainless steel screws.

The Lexan is capable of withstanding extreme temperatures and high impact so they are almost impossible to break, unless you have an angry ex-wife with a hammer... The O-rings are made for oil/gas environments so they are extremely chemical resistant, and there is teflon on the stainless steel assembly screws, so leaking won't be an issue. They are exact fit bolt on parts for XS650's.

I currently have a few sets on the road right now, being tested and abused before I openly start selling to the public, but I am offering a pre-order list, so I know what my demand will be, as these sets are not mass produced, they are one-off made in a small independently owned/operated young American entrepreneur owned business.

I already have numerous sets on pre-order for customers that will wait, with an expected delivery time of early/mid January 2016. Fully packaged, I am retailing them for $275 per complete set (4pcs)

They will be available in a smooth OR ribbed finish, raw aluminum or black anodized, so there are 4 choices (smooth raw or smooth black, ribbed raw or ribbed black)

Pre-order customers will need to provide a $150 deposit, or full, whichever they prefer, balance due prior to shipping. ANYBODY ON THE PRE-ORDER LIST GETS A FREE SPEAKEASY MOTORS T-SHIRT!

Please check out the photos, and let me know your thoughts...

Pretty cool. A member a while back had a similar clutch cover. He had some sort of chemical in the oil that glowed or some shit. Maybe just LEDs in there , but was pretty cool. Just like your idea. So is the orings butyl nitrile or what?

Once running I'd think you wouldn't be able to see anything as the oil would cover the lexan. You have a video of a running engine with the cover on it?

Could be a good way to tell if the oil needs changing.
And, if it DOESN'T cover the Lexan, a good sign of impending doom...

    Hi 2Many,
yeah, brown is good, black is bad and clear is disastrous.
Mr Cheapskate don't need bling but fancies a porthole and wants to know the cost for just one plain 3-holer, eh?

I can visualize that in an embossed ring around the porthole.

Fred, which valve position would you fancy for this window?

    Hi 2Many,
starboard inlet would be best. That way I lean towards the sidecar as I check the oil's colour. And my passenger could see it too, anything to give her a sense of active participation.

I would also be interested in the cost of a single 3-holer.

    Hi Mark,
I tried that with my first wife back in the UK.
She drove my Gold Flash/Garrard rig into a tree in the New Forest.
And while Alva can type with all 10 fingers while talking on the phone in both official languages she can't drive a car that has more than two pedals.
Although I'm sure she could watch a transparent valve cover while looking for the next washroom and listening to Elvis on her I-pod.
