bring back the xs650

Kawasaki did it.

Both as a 650 and as an 800, it was imported to the US for a short time, might have been issues with getting it clean enough for the EPA.
To my mind the only false note is the casting at the top of the cam drive shaft, it's just too smooth looking.
W650 and W800 I'm not sure how well it has done sales wise.
It has a rather blatant British look down to a side cover made to look like a "pre unit" twin.
I would not be surprised if Yamaha did revisit the XS someday.

In Japan , Yamaha released an aniversary edition of the SR400 , so I guess it is possible.

Kawasaki never seemed to market the W650 or I am sure they would have sold way more of them. ( Not sure, I guess I could google it, but did they change the top end on the W on later models ? )

The XS6 huh. Never seen that picture.
To much change to the motor looks for me. Looks to bulky. Like the Honda CB's.

I think Kawasaki's problem is they produced a retro bike 15 years too early.
A local Kawa dealer says he had a couple and kept 1 for himself, but the market wanted superbikes(even if they were just 250's) and they W's were ignored.
